These colossal Olmec heads can be found in the present-day state of Veracruz, Mexico. The sizes of these heads range from approximately 1.5 – 3.5 meters high and can weigh up to 55 tons. Looking at the facial features of these colossal heads, such as the broad noses and thick lips, many believe that these Olmec heads serve as proof of an ancient African presence in the Americas.
